Autumn tour by boat and cogwheel railway
Experience Mount Pilatus in a different way this autumn: on this tour, you’ll combine a ride on the cogwheel railway with a boat trip across Lake Lucerne. Unlike the Golden and Silver Round Trips, you’ll travel exclusively by cogwheel railway and boat.
Every weekend from 24 October to 15 November 2026.
On weekends between 24 October and 15 November 2026, you can combine your trip to Pilatus with a boat trip from Lucerne to Alpnachstad (or vice versa). Seats on the boat are limited and only available as a combined ticket.

Ticket options
The boat runs once a day at weekends from Lucerne to Alpnachstad and back. Accordingly, you can choose from two options for the combined ticket:
Option 1 – Arrival by boat
12.45 pm departure from Lucerne (Schwanenplatz)
1.40 pm arrival in Alpnachstad
2.00 pm ascent to Pilatus Kulm

The return journey from Alpnachstad is not included in the ticket.
Option 2 – Return journey by boat

3.10 pm Arrival in Lucerne (Schwanenplatz)
Travel to Alpnachstad is not included. We recommend booking a seat Link opens in a new tab. for the ascent if the weather is good.

Starting point in Lucerne

Take public transport to Lucerne railway station. Schwanenplatz is just a few minutes’ walk from the station.
Start in Alpnachstad
Valley station of the cogwheel railway (Brünigstrasse 2, 6053 Alpnachstad)
From Lucerne railway station, take the S5 train to Alpnachstad station. The journey takes 17 minutes.

The SBB Junior Travelcard and Children’s Co-Travelcard are valid.
Important
The panorama-gondolas and cable car between Kriens and Pilatus Kulm will be out of service from 19 October to 27 November due to maintenance.
