Cogwheel Railway / Boat / Train
Alpnachstad–Pilatus Kulm–Alpnachstad
Important: The cogwheel railway operates from 12 May 2025 until 16 November 2025. The boat service between Lucerne and Alpnachstad will end on 20.10.2025.
Waiting times are possible in case of high visitor numbers. We recommend reserving a timeslot for your ride on the cogwheel train.

*Ämsigen stop: Exit upon request. Boarding is only permitted if there is sufficient space in the rail cars. Please follow the conductor’s instructions. The stop is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Bookings absolutely essential 24h in advance for groups and schools.
Strollers must be folded during transport.
No bicycle transport.
Extra trips are possible during off-peak times from and to Alpnachstad for a surcharge.
Booking must take place at least 10 days in advance.
