Arrival and location plan
The Pilatus is centrally located in the heart of Switzerland. The valley stations in Alpnachstad and Kriens are conveniently accessed by Autobahn junctions. You can also quickly reach the foot of the mountain by train, boat or bus.
Driving is prohibited on the mountain. Pilatus Kulm and the middle stations are not accessible by car.

From Lucerne main station: Take Bus number 1 (platform A) in direction to Kriens/Obernau. Get off at the stop “Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus” (approx. 15 minutes). Then follow the red signs to the valley station in Kriens (5-minute walk).

We recommend making a reservation for the ride on the cogwheel railway.
From Lucerne main station: Take the train S5 to Alpnachstad railway station. Or from Lucerne by boat from pier 2 to Alpnachstad (50 – 90 minutes). The boat only operates from May to October.
